Tim Summerton is a dedicated painter of the Australian landscape who has forged a unique style that draws on a range of abstract devices while remaining faithful to a sense of place. A typical picture might contain smudges, drips or overlapping lines that knit together in a mesh. Summerton’s colour is non-naturalistic but manages to capture the essence of the landscape more effectively than the work of many artists who proceed with near-photographic precision.

Tim Summerton completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Newcastle, Sydney in 1998 and an Honours degree in Fine Art from the University of New South Wales in 2000. Summerton was the 2009 runner up for the prestigious Kings School Art Prize. His work is included in the Macquarie Bank’s corporate collection and in numerous private collections in Australia, the US, Britain and Asia.
