The exhibition opened a couple of weeks ago and has enjoyed much media attention with over 2500 people visiting in the opening two weeks alone.
Ryan said the exhibition provided “an opportunity to observe and reflect upon the journey and directions my work had taken. My search to capture the feeling, mood and essence of place has been explored throughout this period”.
Ryan’s works explore what is “meaningful, intimate and familiar” . Her works often reference the farming community of Warrnambool a particular “layout to the land” that Ryan calls “home”.
Ryan’s career is well is filled with numerous highlights including finalists selection in the Wynne Prize on three separate occasions.
Ryan has an upcoming exhibition at Olsen Irwin Works on Paper running from 11 – 25th August .
The exhibition consists of both charcoal and oil works on paper that explore depictions of both Warrnambool and the South West Coast.
