Paul Davies continuing fascination with mid-century modern architecture has seen him paint everything from Rose Seidler House in Sydney’s Wahroonga to Frank Sinatra’s holiday home in Palm Springs, California. Now Melbourne is set to see why this artists stock is rising so dramatically when Sydney’s Tim Olsen Gallery presents a satellite exhibition of Davies paintings at Christine Abrahams Gallery in Richmond. Devoid of human inhabitants, the artists ghostly structures in rust reds and cobalt blues are undeniably iconic but also a little past their price, like once-famous movie stars trying to keep their game face on a mortality approaches. October 11  to 26.
